The Valley Gardens Trail (Orange) - (0.8 mile, 1.3 km)

This Valley Gardens trail starts by the main town entrance to Valley Gardens (opposite the Royal Pump Room Museum) and is 0.8 mile (1.3 km) long if returning to the start. Alternatively the Trail can finish back at the Magnesia Well Cafe which is 0.2 miles from the Pump Room Museum

Enter the Valley Gardens. Take the left hand path.

Continue along the path for about 50 yards.

Continue along the path until almost reaching the Magnesia Well café. There you will see the double sided plaque set in the grass a few yards away.

With the café on your left hand side, just past the café is a circular flower bed. Towards the left of this bed, there is a large tree.

Just past the café is a circular flower bed. Proceed round this in an anti-clockwise direction and take the first path off (after the path that goes by the back of the bandstand). Towards the end of this path is the Magnesia Well Pump Room Building.

Continue to the end of the path, turn left and after a few yards you will see the Magnesia Well on your left.

Now continue along the path in the same direction, through the crazy golf and tennis courts to the Valley Drive entrance, where you leave Valley Gardens, through the King Edward VII Memorial Gate. Turn right.

On the iron railings, left hand side of the King Edward VII Memorial Gate entrance to Valley Gardens (by the roundabout).

Walk back past the Gate and go down Valley Drive, immediately crossing the road, after the roundabout. Walk down a few houses and look for no 97 Valley Drive. (This is a private residence – please respect their privacy).

To return to the town centre continue down Valley Drive until you reach the bottom where it meets Royal Parade and you are back at the Royal Pump Room Museum.

 

Alternatively to return to the Magnesia Well Café, cross the road and continue down Valley Drive for a short distance until you see an entrance to Valley Gardens in the hedge.  Follow this path a short distance back to the café.
